Game 3 world series 2024
The World Baseball Classic is held in March and the Premier12 is held in November, allowing both events to feature top-level players from all nations. The predecessor to the WBSC as the sport’s international governing body, the International Baseball Federation, also sponsored a Baseball World Cup to crown a world champion photos Irisa. However, because the World Cup was held during the Northern Hemisphere summer, during the playing season of almost all top-level leagues, its teams did not feature the best talent from each nation.
The Boston Red Sox broke their 86-year drought, known as the Curse of the Bambino, defeating the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS after losing the first three games, and then sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 World Series. With the 2006 World Series victory by the Cardinals, Tony La Russa became the second manager to win a World Series in both the American and National Leagues. Other notable World Series victories of the decade include the Arizona Diamondbacks, in only their fourth season of play, over the Yankees in 2001, The Anaheim Angels in 2002, the Chicago White Sox in 2005, and the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008.
2024 saw the return of the New York Yankees for the first time since their 2009 championship, meeting the Los Angeles Dodgers in a matchup that hadn’t happened since 1981. The Dodgers, with home field advantage, took the first 2 games at Dodger Stadium, and the 1st game at Yankee Stadium to take a 3–0 lead. The Yankees won Game 4, and then held a 5–0 lead in Game 5, but lost 7–6, giving the Dodgers their second title in five years and first since 2020. Freddie Freeman was awarded the World Series MVP trophy after hitting home runs in each of the first four games, including a walk-off grand slam in Game 1.
Dodgers: There might have been more talented Dodgers teams in this era. There have definitely been healthier ones. This one, though, was the most perseverant. And so it was fitting, perhaps, that on the night they clinched, the Dodgers overcame a five-run deficit and used eight relievers — one of them a starting pitcher by trade — to secure 23 outs in a come-from-behind victory over the Yankees in Game 5. The last of those relievers was Walker Buehler, the Game 3 starter who had been dreadful as a reliever throughout his career and had been six years removed from his last stint out of the bullpen.

Though they didn’t capitalize on opportunities to turn it into a blowout and the Yankees got some late life from Alex Verdugo’s two-run homer off Michael Kopech in the ninth, the Dodgers were in control early and often and are now just a win away from their second World Series title in five years and their first in a full season since 1988.
Who are the starting pitchers?Dodgers: RHP Walker Buehler (1-6, 5.38 ERA in the regular season)Buehler’s regular season didn’t go as expected once he returned from a second Tommy John surgery, but the right-hander has had a strong postseason for the Dodgers. Buehler’s final line against the Padres in NLDS Game 3 looks worse than his overall performance. He then bounced back in a pivotal Game 3 in the NLCS, tossing four scoreless innings against the Mets.
11:44 p.m. — Edman makes a nice spinning throw from shortstop to throw out Torres, and that’ll do it. The Yankees made a last-second attempt to get back in the game, but it was too late. The Dodgers own a 3-0 lead in the World Series, and they’re within one win of a title, while New York is a loss away from being eliminated.
Entering this series, MLB teams took 3-0 series leads 40 times. Thirty-one of them ended in sweeps. The Yankees can only hope Luis Gil shows up and pitches better than Carlos Rodón and Clarke Schmidt did in Games 2 and 3. And even then, considering how New York’s offense has performed this series, the prospect of Los Angeles going with an all-bullpen game on Tuesday doesn’t seem all that disadvantageous.

Where in the world is carmen sandiego game
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? Treasures of Knowledge (aka Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and Carmen Sandiego Treasures of Knowledge) is a point-and-click adventure game in the Carmen Sandiego franchise, released in 2001. For its title, the game does not use the long-standing formula of the previous Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? titles. Instead, the game seems to be based on the structure of the newest version of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?, which The Learning Company retitled Carmen Sandiego’s Great Chase Through Time.
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is an educational video game released by Broderbund in 1985. It is the first product in the Carmen Sandiego franchise. The game was distributed with The World Almanac and Book of Facts, published by Pharos Books. An enhanced version of the game was released in 1989, which did not have the almanac copy protection but disk based copy protection. A deluxe version was released in 1992, and featured additional animation and a reworked interface from the original version. Some of the bonus features include: “digitized photos from National Geographic, over 3200 clues, music from the Smithsonian/Folkways Recordings, 20 villains, 60 countries, and 16 maps”. CD-ROM versions for MS-DOS and Macintosh were released in 1992, and a Windows version was released in 1994.
Lee and the gumshoe then moved to a giant map that covered the entire floor in front of the studio audience. The map showed small red circles denoting cities of countries or states, and later added red arrows marking bodies of water and red squares for national parks and monuments.
The second animated series, Carmen Sandiego, is co-produced by Netflix, where it aired for four seasons from 2019 to 2021. In this series, Carmen Sandiego is not a villain or antihero, but the heroine, who is recruited to V.I.L.E. in infancy and trained as a master thief, only to turn against them and seek to undo their thievery.

Hardest game in the world
That’s what’s impressive about Minesweeper. It’s ultimately a pretty challenging puzzle game that becomes borderline absurd at high-difficulty settings, but I’m just amazed that Microsoft was bold enough to make such a confusing, complicated, and difficult game one of the most recognizable early Windows experiences.
There are quite a few challenging “logic puzzle” games on the PC, but what separates this truly incredible experience from some of its immediate competition is the way that the game’s time manipulation mechanics require you to cross-reference nearly every piece of information that you acquire with every other piece of information you acquire.
Having said that, I ultimately see this as the final boss for genre fans. No matter how good you think you are at solving the most confounding adventure game puzzles ever crafted, I’m willing to bet that this game will leave you seriously considering downloading a walkthrough and calling it a day. This game’s “cat puzzle” alone has broken the strongest souls.
In a previous article about a nearly impossible dungeon crawler called The Immortal, I talked about how that game tries to make you walk a very specific path to avoid its various death traps. Well, Commandos utilizes a similar trick with one fascinating twist: you have to blaze your own path to victory.
Will you break a controller playing this? It’s possible. Expect frustration, rage and an incredible feeling of satisfaction when your thumbs finally do their jobs, you nail the timing and you make it through a particularly gruelling level. As one Steam reviewer memorably puts it, “This is a bad game, and that’s why I’ve played it for 2000 hours.”
