The 2024 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) 2024 season. In the top of the third inning, Tommy Edman led off with a walk, advanced on a groundout and then scored on a single by Mookie Betts. The Dodgers threatened again in the fourth with runners at first and third and no outs, but the rally was thwarted when Gavin Lux was tagged out on a close play at home on an attempted squeeze bunt by Edman. In the bottom half of the inning, Giancarlo Stanton doubled and tried to score on Anthony Volpe’s single, but he was also cut down at the plate via an accurate throw by left fielder Teoscar Hernandez to keep the Yankees off the board.
The Dodgers and Yankees entered the 2024 MLB postseason as the top seeds in their respective leagues. The Dodgers had home-field advantage in the series due to their better regular season win-loss record. It was the 12th time in the Dodgers–Yankees rivalry that the teams have met in the World Series, but only the first instance since 1981. The teams had previously faced each other at least once per decade from the 1940s through the 1980s. The Yankees held a 6–1 edge in the World Series rivalry during the Brooklyn Dodgers/Subway Series era, and the teams were 2–2 following the Dodgers’ relocation to Los Angeles. In their 2024 World Series meeting, the Dodgers took a 3–0 series lead before losing Game 4 in New York. They would win their eighth World Series title the next day, coming back from a 5–0 deficit, a record for most runs to come from behind in a World Series clinching game.
In the fifth, the Yankees committed a series of errors and defensive mistakes that allowed the Dodgers to tie the score. After a leadoff single by Kiké Hernandez, Judge committed his first error of the season, dropping a routine fly ball off the bat of Tommy Edman that put runners on first and second. Anthony Volpe then committed a throwing error while trying to throw out Hernandez at third on Will Smith’s ground ball, which loaded the bases with no outs. Cole responded by striking out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, but a slow ground ball from Mookie Betts resulted in an RBI infield single when first baseman Anthony Rizzo did not charge the bag after fielding the ball and Cole did not cover first base; had this play been made, the inning would have ended with no runs scored. With the Dodgers’ deficit now 5–1 and the bases still loaded, Freddie Freeman then hit a two-run single and Teoscar Hernández a two-run double, tying the game at 5–all, with all five runs unearned.
After missing the postseason in 2023, the New York Yankees traded for star outfielder Juan Soto to help bolster their lineup. Soto and Aaron Judge helped the Yankees to lead the American League in runs and the MLB in home runs. Joining Soto and Judge as All-Stars were relief pitcher Clay Holmes. The Yankees’ closer role initially belonged to Holmes, but after recording an MLB-leading 11 blown saves, he lost the position. Luke Weaver took over the role in September and retained it throughout their postseason run. After not appearing in a game until June 19 due a spring training injury, reigning AL Cy Young award winner Gerrit Cole headed a deep rotation of starters including Carlos Rodón, rookie Luis Gil, Nestor Cortes, Marcus Stroman, and Clarke Schmidt. At the trade deadline, the team added Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Mark Leiter Jr.

Another World is a platform game, featuring a control scheme where the player uses either the keyboard, joystick or gamepad to make the protagonist run, jump, attack and perform other, situation-specific actions, such as rocking a cage back and forth. In the initial part of the game, the player’s character Lester is unarmed. He is able to kick at small creatures, but is otherwise defenseless.
Upon publishing, Delphine did not perform a playtest of the full game, only having previously tested the first portion of the game. Delphine’s U.S. publisher Interplay undertook a full playtest and Chahi fixed a number of bugs that arose from this. Interplay had also requested additional changes in the game, including making the game longer and changing the game’s introduction music. Chahi was adamant about retaining the game’s opening music, and had attempted to change Interplay’s minds by sending them an “infinite fax”, a looped piece of paper, with the message “keep the original intro music” on it. Only when Delphine’s lawyer got involved and told Interplay they legally could not change the music did Interplay relax this requirement.
This version of Another World was designed for personal computers with operating system MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System), which was operating system developed by Microsoft in 1981. It was the most widely-used operating system in the first half of the 1990s. MS-DOS was supplied with most of the IBM computers that purchased a license from Microsoft. After 1995, it was pushed out by a graphically more advanced system – Windows and its development was ceased in 2000. At the time of its greatest fame, several thousand games designed specifically for computers with this system were created. 32-Bit App Alert, Warns Older Apps May Slow iPhone Getting alerts like crazy. This is not cool. Why did Apple let me buy an app, with no warning, and then flash me a warning while I am running the app, stating that it’s bad for my brand new iPhone? Why not just remove it if it’s actually slowing down my system? I understand enough about architecture to see how the statement is true, but this just pisses me off. This just leaves me worrying about the health of my devices, and developers and users alike will be angry. I get what Apple is trying to do, but scare tactics will just drive people away from the platform. If the apps really do noticeably slow down Apple devices, then why the hell are they being sold on the App Store with no warning?

So I recently purchased an iPhone 5s and an iPad air 2 and discovered that this game on both has a sound issue. When I play it on my iPod 4g there is no issue but on the other two devices certain sounds are played slower than they should be, thus making them sound like slow motion. For instance the beast in the beginning, after he chases you to the vine his growl is slowed down and deeply guttural, and then when you are in the cage, the guard starts shooting up and his voice is off, slowed down, as well as what your partner says when he taps you on the shoulder immediately after breaking free. His voice is not the same at all and he doesn’t even finish saying what he’s supposed to say because it’s so slowed down. the laser shots are completely off, especially the super shot. Essentially the sound is really screwed up. I saved version 1.2 and when i play that on my iPod 4g no sound issue, but no matter what version I play now on my iPhone 5s or iPad 2 the sound is completely screwed up. Really love this game and hope to have the issue resolved soon. Other than that it is a great game
