When I think of that game in particular I remember that it was, frankly, kind of terrible for about six innings. Sloppy and ugly, and nobody had any idea whatsoever that it was going to turn into an all-time classic. Kind of a disappointment, really, after so much fun stuff had led up to it. He tied records for most HRs (3), most hits (5), and most RBIs (6) in a World Series game, and established a new record with 14 total bases. Pujols’ Game 3 performance led to Rangers pitchers walking him three times intentionally in Game 4.
