The developer commented that World War 3 aims for as much realism as possible without compromising gameplay: “One of our goals with World War 3 is to offer realistic simulations with an altogether enjoyable experience. We call this playable realism.” The game features “an advanced ballistics system, full-body awareness, vehicle physics, and extensive customization.

The Heckler & Koch HK416 first appeared in the Gamescom 2018 build of the game. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was co-developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Chengdu. The game’s art direction and animation was headed by Paul Robertson, whom the company contacted by e-mail. Robertson had previous experience working on the 5th Cell series Drawn to Life and created Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006, an animated side-scroller game based film. Robertson was responsible for designing and animating the game’s sprites, effects, and other aspects. He felt he had “the most creative control” on any game he has worked on, but that he was still restricted by the source material, pleasing the publishers and producers, and programming limitations. Chiptune-based pop and rock band Anamanaguchi performed the soundtrack for the game. Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim series creator, and Edgar Wright, director of the film adaptation, were also involved in development. O’Malley came to Ubisoft and discussed with the development team how the game’s narrative and flow should be handled. He also drew several sketches on which the in-game cutscenes are based. According to O’Malley, he was initially approached by Telltale Games to make a Scott Pilgrim adventure game, but he declined as he could not see it as part of that genre. O’Malley designed the concept moves and specials of the playable characters and bosses. He began this in the Summer of 2009.

Both the series’ author Bryan Lee O’Malley and the film’s director Edgar Wright were heavily involved in the creation of the game. The sprites were made by famed sprite-artist and animator Paul Robertson with music provided by Anamanaguchi, a chiptune punk band. There are a few changes from the comic to help fit the game.

How will the bullpens line up after the starter?Yankees: The Yankees have worked their bullpen heavily to notch seven wins through their first nine postseason games, but they’ll benefit from the layoff before the World Series. Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver have appeared in eight of those nine games. Weaver — the de facto closer — leads all Yankees relievers with 10 1/3 innings. Boone has been aggressive in asking Weaver for as many as six outs in the postseason, which likely will continue in the World Series. Tim Hill has made seven appearances and Tommy Kahnle six. Mark Leiter Jr. made a pair of crucial outings late in the ALCS after being added as an injury replacement for Ian Hamilton.

History pulsates in the postseason, all the more when iconic clubs clash. And Valenzuela’s death earlier this week only added to the emotional heft of what is taking place here. Prior to the first pitch, the Dodgers had two of their World Series MVPs — Steve Yeager (1981) and Orel Hershiser (1988) — honor Valenzuela’s memory by placing a ball on the mound, below where his No. 34 had been painted.

Dodgers: Edman is coming off winning NLCS MVP, putting together one of his best stretches of the season with 11 RBIs. Ohtani also set a Dodgers record in the NLCS, reaching base safely 17 times against the Mets. After the Dodgers drew 41 walks in the six-game NLCS, it’s difficult to find one player who isn’t at his best offensively.

Jeffrey Maier this was not. Twenty-eight years (!) after Derek Jeter was awarded a home run in Game 1 of the 1996 ALCS when Maier reached over the wall and caught a ball Tony Tarasco was camped under, Torres was given a double on a very similar play in Game 1. He hit a rocket and a fan reached over the wall and caught it.

And in the end, the Dodgers came out with a magical opening act in which Freeman gave off those Gibby goosebumps — almost to the minute (Gibson’s homer had landed at 8:38 p.m. local time, Freeman’s cleared the wall at 8:39).

“Man,” said manager Dave Roberts after the Dodgers deserted the dugout to greet Freeman at home plate, “it was a great game before that, but the way it finished, I just couldn’t be more excited for our guys.”
