Mookie Betts capped a nine-pitch at-bat with a single to shallow right field that was enough to score Edman from second base and make it 3-0 Dodgers. Aggressive baserunning by the speedy Edman made it impossible for the Yankees to even try for a play at the plate https://casinousworld.com/.

“You know, this year, we’ve battled, we’ve faced adversity, and we just keep coming back and punching back,” Freeman said. “And it’s just a credit to our guys, our staff, everyone in this organization, we believe in ourselves, and we’ve been doing it so far.”

What was supposed to be a Goliath vs. Goliath showdown has instead been a one-sided matchup since the 10th inning of Game 1. The Dodgers simply haven’t blinked since taking control of the series on Freeman’s walk-off grand slam in the opener. Freeman homered again in Game 2, and he hit another home run in the first inning of Game 3. The Dodgers haven’t trailed since Game 1.

“This last week has been really good for me,” Freeman said. “The first time I ran was when I ran out to give high fives to my teammates when we got introduced. Tried to stave off running as much as I could this week, treated it as much as I could.”

“You can’t sit here and mope. You can’t sit here and complain. You can’t shoulda, coulda, woulda,” Yankees slugger Aaron Judge said. “It’s time to go to work. We lost this game. Learn from it. See where we can improve and go out there and win the next one.”

Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty bounced back beautifully from a rough start his last time out. He did not let Juan Soto or Aaron Judge beat him. But then Giancarlo Stanton did. In the sixth, Flaherty spun an inside curveball below the zone, and Stanton smoked it to left field for a go-ahead, two-run home run. It was Stanton’s sixth homer this postseason. Crucially, the Yankees left the bases loaded that inning, with lefty Anthony Banda striking out Alex Verdugo.

Wow, Ohtani swings on the first pitch and sends it into foul territory, where Alex Verdugo runs it down for the second out on an acrobatic play. The Yankees opt to walk Mookie Betts and have the left-handed Nestor Cortes face Freddie Freeman, another player returning from injury. This is some drama.

Luckily for them – and everyone who just wanted another great Bungie shooter – Halo 3 made good on the hype. A short Halo 3 campaign mode with a more tangible ending, multiplayer with perhaps the best map pool in the series to date, and the addition of the Forge Editor to create custom maps all raised the bar for Halo. Its first-day sales reached $170 million – somehow more than quadrupling its ridiculous marketing budget – and it became a staple multiplayer game at both high school LAN parties and professional video game tournaments.

Super Mario World is a relatively simple game to describe. It’s a Super Mario game, and we all know what that means: Mushrooms; perfect running and jumping action; and a giant world to explore, crammed with secrets. But what sets Super Mario World apart from other 2D Mario games is its irresistible complexity. Subsequent Super Mario games, like the New Super Mario Bros. series, simplified the overworld, trading Super Mario World’s cool hidden paths for linear tracks, largely abandoned the skies and treetops of Super Mario World’s vertical levels for ground-based obstacle courses, and did away with flying almost entirely (capes rule, helicopter hats drool!). Super Mario World is the crescendo to the slow build in technology and game design that started with Super Mario Bros. Let Super Mario World’s placement on this list be a challenge to future game developers. We dare you to make a better game: Puzzling, but not opaque; tough but not intimidating; beautiful, funny, joyful, and universally recognizable. – Samuel Claiborn

Deep, lengthy RPGs are a staple of PC gaming, and very few have put a larger chunk of sophisticated content forward than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has. Its massive sandbox open-world areas impress, both in terms of scope and density; they’re generously dotted with great monsters to slay, tantalizing mysteries to solve, and personal stories to unfurl.

The quality of the story in this long and linear character-driven RPG waxes and wanes, but the action combat is among the best I’ve ever played. The gameplay grips you from the very beginning as Clive smoothly dashes, parries, and swings his giant sword and varied magic with a dazzling amount of style. The gameplay didn’t just help me stick with the game, but instead allowed my excitement to bubble over every time I took on a new mission. —Ana Diaz

Uncharted 2’s mid-game, high-speed train cart set piece rivals the best of the Mission: Impossible movies, and it was all done on a PlayStation 3 in 2009. Nathan Drake’s sophomore outing pushed the envelope for motion capture and rip-roaring action, and is a high bar for the best-selling PlayStation series.

2013’s The Last of Us pulled very few punches, choosing to eschew a tidy, walk-into-the-sunset hero’s victory for a morally ambiguous rug pull. Its follow-up was more unlikely still; a revenge tale that put us in the shoes of a character we were encouraged to hate early on. Somehow, The Last of Us Part 2 makes it work, and the warring stories of its beautifully performed dual protagonists are told with no punches pulled, once again leaving us in a more ambiguous space than AAA games would usually allow. Plus, its combat is fluid, it looks gorgeous, and its sinister creature design means it’s genuinely tense from moment to moment. A masterpiece. – Lucy O’Brien (Read Our Review)
